To support this continued expansion, AP is strengthening its commercial and strategic organization through the appointment of a VP Business Development. The role will have broad responsibility across market development, international business growth initiatives, industrial cooperation activities, and selected business-critical processes and partnerships.
The VP Business Development will work closely with the VP Strategy and AP leadership team to translate strategic priorities into commercial initiatives, industrial partnerships, market positioning, and long-term growth opportunities across selected international markets. VP Business Development will play a central role in executing AP’s strategic growth agenda through commercial initiatives, industrial partnerships, customer engagement, and international market development.
The position offers significant exposure to international defense and aerospace markets and requires close collaboration with governmental organizations, armed forces, industry partners, and leading defense companies globally.
The role is central in converting AP’s long-term strategic priorities into executable business opportunities, customer relationships, industrial cooperation initiatives, and sustainable international growth.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Represent Nammo towards senior governmental, military, and industry stakeholders across international markets
Lead and coordinate cross-market growth initiatives and strategic business development activities across AP globally
Lead and drive enterprise-level business development initiatives aligned with AP’s long-term growth priorities
Develop, maintain, and execute country-specific strategies and capture plans for designated markets
Lead and drive enterprise-level business development initiatives aligned with AP’s long-term growth priorities
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, authorities, industry partners, and other key stakeholders
Lead and coordinate industrial cooperation and offset activities across relevant markets
Support selected M&A activities, strategic partnerships, and related growth initiatives, including following up selected strategic initiatives and transactions
Own and further develop selected business processes, governance structures, and cross-functional coordination mechanisms supporting scalable growth
Support broader corporate initiatives and strategic projects across the Nammo Group
Provide relevant market insight, including geopolitical and defense market developments
Qualifications:
Education at minimum bachelor level, master preferred
Education within business, engineering, technology, defense studies, or related disciplines preferred
Experience within business development, sales, capture management, or strategic commercial roles
Experience managing complex projects and processes involving public-sector or governmental customers
Strong understanding of defense organizations and governmental decision-making processes
Good knowledge of the Western defense and aerospace industry landscape
Experience from defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries is an advantage
Experience with strategic planning, partnerships, industrial cooperation, and/or international collaboration models is beneficial
Experience related to M&A, investments, or strategic transactions is considered a plus
Military background or defense sector experience is an advantage
Fluent in Norwegian and English, written and spoken

The position is based at Nammo’s corporate headquarters in Raufoss, Norway, and will require international travel. The position will require that the candidate can obtain a National security clearance at HEMMELIG / NATO SECRET level.
