A more challenging geopolitical landscape, increasing demand for defense capacity, and substantial industrial investments are now driving the business into a period of strong growth and technology development for improved capabilities.
AP is therefore strengthening its commercial organization through the appointment of one or more Directors of Business Development. This role is part of a broader strategic effort to build a more robust, forward-looking commercial capability, aligned with evolving market dynamics and increasing global demand.
The Director will have responsibility for selected business areas within the tactical segment, working closely with a predominantly international customer base of leading missile prime contractors. In addition to managing and developing these core accounts, the role will play a key part in shaping market direction, identifying and developing new business opportunities, and contributing to the evolution of Nammo’s commercial and strategic capabilities.
Depending on the candidate’s background and experience, the primary market focus will be either the U.S. or Europe.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Establish, lead and execute strategic commercial plans and priorities
Build and develop strong customer relationships (new and/or existing)
Lead and structure business development, sales, and marketing processes
Contribute to market positioning, direction, and long-term strategy
Identify and pursue opportunities related to partnerships, funding, and industrial collaboration
Represent the company in key forums, including exhibitions and industry events
Provide relevant market insight, including geopolitical and defense market developments
Support initiatives related to investments, M&A, and capital access where relevant
Qualifications:
Education at minimum bachelor level, master preferred
Education and/or experience from engineering and technology is an advantage
Experience within business development, sales, or commercial roles
Market experience from either:
– The U.S. market (including network and customer understanding)
OR
– Europe and/or other international regions (with relevant market insight and relationships)
Experience from defense, aerospace, or other regulated industries is an advantage
Experience with strategic planning and execution
Exposure to partnerships, funding processes, or industrial collaborations is beneficial
Experience with M&A, investments, or capital markets is a plus
Fluent in English is a requirement

The position requires that the candidate be able to obtain national security clearance, and physical presence on-site at Nammo Raufoss is expected at least a few days per week.
