Technical Director Electrical – Buildings & Industry

 We are looking for a Technical Director Electrical to join our MEP team in Buildings & Industry South-East. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring high technical quality, promoting innovative solutions, and enabling both colleagues and clients to reach their goals – with a particular focus on developing and improving the electrical disciplines across Norway.

You will work closely with experts across COWI and report to Frode Fjeldstad, VP, Head of Engineering.

Your key responsibilities will be to: 

  • Inspire others through your actions in alignment with COWI’s core values and behaviors.
  • Participate in the planning, execution and delivery of major engineering projects, applying state-of-the-art technical and innovative solutions. Review project work to ensure high quality, the use of appropriate methods, and compliance with internal processes, client requirements and external standards.
  • Serve as the point of contact for technical leads and disciplines, both nationally and internationally.
  • Act as an ambassador for COWI in dialogue with customers and the broader public, engaging with key customers and making our specialized knowledge visible in relevant arenas.
  • Support Project Managers and Directors in making informed technical decisions and maintaining a commercial market focus to enable upselling and contract extensions.
  • Provide input on technical competencies needed in the executing units and contribute to people and capability development.
  • Strengthen the electrical discipline in line with market needs and support use of Engineering Design Centers.
  • Assist with strategic recruitment efforts and provide guidance to select technical communities.
  • Shape and further develop the role, contributing to how it aligns with market needs and COWI’s strategic direction.
  • Responsible for coordination of regulatory audits and inspections in all office sites in Norway.

On top of that, you will have:

  • A relevant M.Sc. in engineering. Bachelor with broad and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • At least 10 years of experience from planning, executing, and delivering technical engineering projects with knowledge and experience within electrical disciplines.
  • Professional communication skills in Norwegian and English, both written and oral.
