Senior Engineer Water and Wastewater
COWI is an international consultancy within engineering, architecture, energy and environment. Together with customers, we co-create sustainable and beautiful solutions that improve the quality of life for people.
Do you want to be a crucial contributor to further developing Water competence in one of Norway's strongest professional environments? Are you a committed and engaged senior engineer with expertise in water, wastewater and stormwater? Can you design systems for water and wastewater, or contribute with good expertise as a specialist, discipline manager or project manager? Then this could be the next adventure in your career!
At COWI we are involved in some of Norway's largest development projects within water and wastewater. Our customers belong to both public and private sectors, and our employees also contribute to interdisciplinary projects across divisions and geography.
Create Solutions that will enable a better tomorrow
Locally, we work on both small and large projects, everything from early planning to as-built documentation. We work on both unidisciplinary as well as large multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
Examples of projects include large infrastructure projects such as the Nygårdstangen-Bergen-Fløen, Fornebubanen and several county/national/European road projects. We are working on a new water supply to Oslo and Stavanger, Bergen Bybane, New Airport Bodø and the new Regjeringskvartalet. We are planning several central transmission facilities, and local collection and distribution lines in connection with residential/cottage areas, business parks, etc. Being able to dimension and assess solutions within stormwater and flood management have become an increasingly important social mission and competence needs in our projects.
The role reports to Head of Discipline. Depending on your skills and interests, you will typically be working with one or more of the following tasks:
- Planning, technical descriptions and engineering of water, wastewater and storm water systems
- Disciplinary management within VA in multidisciplinary projects
- Management of engineering teams of different sizes and complexity
- Early phase consultancy, water infrastructure and flood management
- Contribute to tender work and customer dialogue
- Contribute to interaction and expertise sharing within your own specialist group and across offices.
Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
On top of that, you will have:
- A relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or equivalent)
- Desirable with at least 5 years' work experience within Water and wastewater
- Good language skills in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
If you have competence in the following, it is considered a clear advantage:
- Participation in major infrastructure projects
- Experience from municipal business or the contracting industry
In the case of particularly relevant experience, candidates with somewhat less experience will be considered.
COWI has customers and projects that may require security clearance at various levels. There may therefore be requirements for security clearance in some projects/positions.
