Do you have a commitment to collaboration and value creation together with customers? Can you manage complex projects with multi-disciplinary teams and ensure effective delivery? And are you experienced in project management within the industrial sector? Then this could be the next step in your career!

Everything starts with the customer – that is what drives the development.

COWI is an international engineering consulting company with around 1300 employees in Norway and is considered a leader in the industrial sector. In Buildings & Industry, we have worked alongside our customers on some of Norway's most significant projects, including Skygard Data Center, Carbon capture Klemetsrud, Tine, various hospitals and defence projects.

COWI Buildings & Industry seeks to strengthen its position even more within the industrial sector, and we are looking for a Project Director to join our team. As a Project Director, you will leverage your network to assist COWI in achieving our goals in this sector while leading and managing some of our most exciting projects. Key segments of interest include energy, process and factories, food & fish, and data centers. COWI delivers services primarily in engineering and EPCM contracts.

In this role, you will join our team of Multi-Disciplinary Project Managers and be a valued member of our collective leadership in the “Buildings & Industry North-West” executing unit. Our new Project Director will be motivated by merging our vision —“Together, we shape a sustainable and liveable world”—with our operational targets centered on customer-centricity, highly motivated project teams, and operational excellence. As a Project Director, you will work closely with clients and stakeholders to develop solutions that align with COWI’s Future Now strategy, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead and manage large and complex multi-disciplinary projects in all project phases.
  • Foster active customer centricity and dialogue, aiding with industrial strategic development in our business development and tender management in the industry sector.
  • Engage in providing input and suggestions for enhancing project management systems and HSEQ systems.
  • Manage contracts within project constraints.
  • Manage all project stakeholders, including reporting to and participating in steering committees.
  • Share experiences and knowledge with your peers and contribute to collective continuous improvement.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.

The initial requirement for this role is a willingness to collaborate with those in your vicinity, including colleagues, partners, or clients. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you will have:

  • A relevant educational background ex. M.Sc in engineering.
  • 10-15 years of project management experience (multi-disciplinary), preferably in one or more of the segments mentioned above or interfacing with civil works engineering and execution.
  • Technical proficiency in these segments is considered an advantage.
  • Experience in project management standards and methodologies such as PMI, PRINCE2, or IPMA, with a strong track record of effectively executing projects and leading high-performing teams.
  • Skilled in executing medium to very complex engineering projects, including EPC, EPCI, or EPCM projects.
  • Skills in engaging in international project partnerships would be an asset.
  • Proficient in verbal and non-verbal business communication in Norwegian and English.

Work location

We offer flexibility for you to choose the location that works best for you from our offices in Norway in Stavanger, Haugesund, Bergen, Trondheim, Bodø, or Tromsø.
