The role and key responsibilities
As a Category Manager at NCC, you will play a key role in shaping our procurement strategy, staffing and subcontracting. You will lead efforts to develop and implement a common strategy that addresses the challenges of capacity constraints, fragmented planning, securing compliance, and supplier-related risks. Your work will ensure that NCC remains a preferred customer for our suppliers and that we can meet the demands of increasingly large and complex projects.
Your main responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing Strategies: Create and execute category strategies for staffing and subcontracting areas that align with NCC’s business needs and sustainability goals. Your strategic initiatives will focus on securing long-term capacity and capabilities in a rapidly changing environment.
Supplier Management: Secure sourcing together with internal stakeholders in Business Areas, and negotiate with suppliers, ensuring the best terms for cost, quality, and sustainability. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to build a resilient and reliable supplier base.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, Business Units, finance, and sustainability teams to ensure a unified approach to capacity planning and procurement. Your ability to foster collaboration across departments will be key to achieving our strategic objectives.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier compliance, business ethics, and labor rights. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our supplier base adheres to the highest standards of integrity and responsibility.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data insights to evaluate business value, risk, and performance, and to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes. Your analytical skills will help us make informed decisions that support our long-term goals.
About Purchasing at NCC
NCC Purchasing is a network of purchasing professionals across the Nordics working with everything from project purchasing to supplier base development, strategic sourcing and category management. Cooperation in- and between units is key for us to deliver profitable customer projects. You will join the unit Purchasing Development & Digitalization with the mission to pave the way for business-leading purchasing capabilities.
Your experience and background
We believe that you have a Bachelor or Master´s degree in engineering/ business administration or economics. You have at least 5 years’ experience from producing companies or related business involving procurement within category and supplier management.
You enjoy leading cross functional teams but are also able to work independently with great commitment. The work requires good interpersonal skills, where good business relationships both internally and externally are key. Furthermore, you have excellent negotiation skills, you are goal-oriented, analytical, and structured and you have extensive experience with large matrix organizations.
This position requires fluency in English and in one of the Nordic languages as well as deep understanding of contract management.

Additional information
This position can be based in either Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö.
The position will require travelling from time to time.
This is a permanent position.
