In the Renewable Energy department at COWI, we work on projects within forward-looking and sustainable energy solutions. With us, you will have the opportunity to influence Norway’s energy future in exciting and complex projects.

Location: Oslo, but we are also open to discussing placement at one of our other offices in Norway.

Role

Today, we work in a wide range of energy projects within Carbon capture, green fuels, thermal energy and pipeline & storage to meet society’s increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions. As a Senior Project Manager, you will develop projects from concept and planning to design and implementation. With us, you will be able to work on projects towards Carbon Capture, green fuels, thermal energy and Pipelines & Storage

As a senior project manager you will also play a central role in developing our services and technical compentence. 

Carbon Capture 

Multidiscipline technical advisor/consultant for all project phases for clients or contractors. Our services include; planning and permitting, balance of plant, feasibility studies, project development, environmental impact assessments, process calculation, FEED, building and landscape, transport and terminal, port facilities, construction follow up, and we assist with technical economic aspects. 

Green fuels 

Multidisciplinary consultancy and engineering services within green fuels (hydrogen, methanol, SAF, ammonia), biofuels (biogas, biochar, bio-oil). We work both for clients and contractors. Feasibility studies, concept -, basic -, and detailed engineering, procurement, owners engineer, construction and commissioning management. 

Thermal Energy 

Consultancy and engineering services within district heating production and distribution. 

  • Distribution: master planning, system analysis and business case, strategic heating plan, pipeline design, complicated cross section, modelling and 3D design, construction management and supervision 
  • Production: waste to energy, biomass to energy, large heat pumps for utilities 

Pipelines & storage 

Terminals and storage and distribution facilities for hazardous substances. Typically, storage and distribution facilities for (green) fuels, chemicals and CO₂. 

The team

Within these marked areas we work with a core team of about 25 people,  made up of engineers, specialists, and others. Our experience ranges from just a few years up to 40, and ages go from 29 to 65. Having such a mix really brings  different viewpoints and ideas, making the team a great place to work and learn from each other.

Within our projects we mobilize all the necessary competence from both within COWI and outside to solve the project at hand.

As a Senior Multi-discipline Project manager, you will join a PM team of about six dedicated people and work towards our projects within CCS, thermal, green fuels, pipelines and storage.

In a growing market, we have ambitions to strengthen capacity and competence in several of our core areas in Renewable Energy, and your everyday work may include the following tasks:

  • Leading and motivating multidisciplinary project teams towards success for COWI and our clients.
  • Contract management and risk management
  • Planning and budgeting
  • Handling project changes, realigning scope, deliverables and time schedule
  • Develop and maintain good relations with clients
  • Leading client meetings
  • Engaging in dialogue with clients to ensure project progress and quality
  • Work interdisciplinary for competence sharing across COWI
  • Concept studies, pre-feed and feed projects as well as detail engineering 
  • Contribute to the busines development and tender work
