Railway Engineer
COWI currently has a very good position in Norway within transportation and urban development, and is experiencing high demand for the large development projects that are coming. The Transportation division consists of about 70 employees within railway diciplines, and in the coming years, we will be collaborating with many of the industry’s most skilled clients, contractors, and consultants on projects such as the Bybanen Bergen, Fornebubanen, Hamar station including new Thales Signalling System, as well as several other projects in Norway and abroad. We have many more in sight and have large and significant tender processes underway.
We are growing and are looking for someone with experience and interest,to the further development of railways, including in the areas of:
- Track and railway engineering
- Railway Signalling
- Overcontact lines and traction power supply
- Cable ductings
- Electrical engineering
- RAMS
- Digital collaboration/BIM"
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Be a part of a team who design new railway systems on local, national and international infrastructure projects
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical knowladge.
- Discipline Lead in smaller or larger projects

On top of that, you will have:
- Relevant higher education
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in rail. Experience from client organizations, consultancy, contracting, and/or auditing companies is emphasized.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in both Norwegian and English
- Professional curiosity and a willingness for development
COWI has customers and projects that may require security clearance at various levels. There may therefore be requirements for security clearance in some projects/positions.
