Do you want to shape the future of renewable energy infrastructure in Norway and beyond? Can you develop business opportunities and lead complex project pursuits with strong commercial judgment? And do you have solid experience within energy markets combined with deep customer and market understanding? Then join COWI as our new Senior Market Director for Renewable Energy and apply your knowledge and curiosity to enable a better tomorrow.

Work on renewable energy

To improve COWI’s customer focus within renewable energy in Norway and further expand our market presence, we are looking for a Senior Market Director to drive business development and sales across the renewable energy sector, with a particular focus on power grids, hydropower, thermal energy, and terminals. The position can be based in one of our five Norwegian offices: Oslo, Fredrikstad, Stavanger, Bergen, or Kristiansand.

You will develop new business opportunities, build and maintain key client relationships, and ensure a strong and sustainable pipeline of large-scale energy infrastructure projects. COWI is already performing well within the broader energy sector, where we have established solid client relationships and a robust project portfolio. At the same time, with significant growth in the energy market and increasing demand for grid development, this role will be instrumental in expanding our footprint and deepening cooperation with both established and new clients.

You will report to the Executive Business Development Director (Renewable Energy) and work closely with a specialized capture team, ensuring a structured and professional sales approach. As part of an evolving market setup, you will join a team where sales excellence, client centricity, and high-quality proposal development are key priorities—building on an already solid foundation. You will also work close to the Senior Vice President for Renewable Energy Norway and be a member of the Norwegian management team.

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping market strategy, building customer engagement, and advancing business development across Norway and the wider Nordic region.

With your experience in renewable energy, solid commercial mindset, and deep understanding of customer needs, you will help position COWI as a trusted partner in the development of energy infrastructure.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and manage market activities within renewable energy—particularly power grids, hydropower, thermal energy, and terminals—while building long-term client relationships and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

  • Identify leads, establish a strong pipeline and actively mature opportunities from early dialogue through tenders, proposals and contract negotiations

  • Lead tender selection processes and Go/No-Go decisions

  • Lead and contribute to proposal and tender activities together with capture managers and capture coordinators, ensuring high-quality submissions aligned with COWI sales processes

  • Participate in pricing discussions and commercial negotiations

  • Act as Key Account Manager for selected clients and contribute to the development of strategic customer relationships

  • Pursue opportunities with persistence and a strategic approach in a competitive and growing market.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.

Like us, you believe that effective business development is built on trust, collaboration and clear direction. You are motivated by developing opportunities, building lasting client relationships and creating value for both customers and colleagues.

You bring solid experience from industrial markets combined with deep customer understanding and market insight.

On top of that, you will have:

  • A relevant educational background (e.g. engineering)

  • Extensive experience within renewable energy markets, including power grid, hydropower, thermal energy and terminals, combined with broader exposure to large infrastructure projects.

  • Demonstrated experience in senior-level business development and long-term management of key client relationships

  • A proactive and persistent mindset, with the ability to drive opportunities forward over time

  • Solid experience contributing to and leading complex proposals, tenders and commercial processes

  • A good customer focus and ability to operate in a role without direct line management responsibility

  • Professional proficiency in a Scandinavian language and English, both written and spoken
