Leading Civil Design Manager - Data Centres
COWI is an international consultancy within engineering, architecture, energy and environment. Together with customers, we co-create sustainable and beautiful solutions that improve the quality of life for people.
Data centres play a vital role in society, and the decisions made today will shape the digital and sustainable infrastructure of tomorrow. At COWI, we are intensifying our focus on data centres and expanding our capabilities to support clients in delivering the next generation of digital infrastructure.
We are therefore looking for a Leading Civil Design Manager to join us on this journey, becoming an integral part of our growing organisation and helping to evolve our data centre environment through your expertise in complex projects.
Be a part of building COWI’s data centre environment
Data centres are a strategic growth area at COWI. As we scale our presence in this market, we are enhancing our multidisciplinary capabilities and working closely with clients to develop reliable, efficient, and sustainable data centre solutions. In this role, you will engage closely with clients, colleagues, and partners to develop and deliver data centre projects from early concept through design and implementation.
As a Leading Civil Design Manager, you will bring your expertise in civil engineering into multidisciplinary teams, helping to translate customer needs into robust and future-ready solutions.
You will be part of a professional environment experiencing rapid growth and clear strategic focus within COWI, with opportunities to deepen your expertise, grow alongside the organisation, and play an active role in shaping our approach to data centre projects and customer collaboration.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Act as Discipline Lead on international data centre projects, ensuring technical quality and high-quality design documentation
- Manage international data centre clients and stakeholders, translating requirements into robust civil designs and ensuring client expectations are met
- Support projects across the full lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through design, construction, and commissioning—particularly within drainage, road design, and underground utility coordination
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary international teams to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery
- Contribute to the development of the department’s international market and business
Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.
The first step to success in this role is your willingness to collaborate with the people around you—whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. You build and maintain relationships through respectful behavior and consistently keeping your commitments. You stay receptive to new ideas, always looking for fresh insights and opportunities to improve.
In addition, you will have:
- A relevant educational background in civil engineering or a related field
- Experience working with an engineering design consultancy, as well as site experience
- Knowledge of Civil 3D, Revit, or similar tools
- Experience with data centre projects or other large-scale, mission-critical/industrial projects
